My Story

Lady Talk Matters is an incredible charity doing incredible things. Ok, so you may think I am biased because I am the founder of the organisation - but ask anyone that we have supported, and you will get the same answer - Lady Talk Matters is truly improving lives across the globe!

Our passionate team work above and beyond to provide education, manufacture re-usable period products, and keep women and girls in work and school with dignity and self-respect. There is such a need across the globe, I want to be able to do so much more and help so many more people, but truth is, running a charity comes at a high cost, a cost that often comes out of my own pocket. To be able to create awareness, we must produce education materials, to be able to manufacture period pads, we must buy materials, rent factory space, and pay salaries - the costs all add up!

So, this year, I have bitten the bullet and as part of my Sea to Summit Extreme challenge  have decided to try and raise funds to support the charity. 

Starting on 24th July I will make my way from Lake Bala in Wales to the top of the iconic Ben Nevis in Scotland.  In true ‘Andrea’ fashion, I won’t be taking the easy route. Instead I will be swimming the longest lake in each of the 3 countries that I pass through, navigating my way on bike to the foot of the highest peak in each respective country and just to finish it off I will run up to the top to make sure I get a view of where I have just come from!  There is guaranteed to be blood, sweat and tears!  But as the going gets tough, I will always remember the reason why I am doing it - to support women and girls around the globe! I will pull myself together and push on.
